PERSPECTIVES ON RURAL LANDSCAPE FROM ART AND SCIENCE

3.png

Physical forces created Central Nevada's dynamic landscape: earthquakes, floods and volcanos. Human counterparts  shaped it: Native communities, pathfinders and miners.

Esmeralda High Desert Institute creates opportunities for dialog and collaboration between art and science, showcasing the arts and humanities as vital voices within our rural communities.

Situated in Goldfield, Nevada the Institute provides classes, workshops, residency programs and a yearly landscape symposium. An open studio and art center are on the list for the future!

Our vision is to build a non profit vehicle that will embed a wide variety of active artists and scientists into our rural communities.
